Skills for Life Working Group

This involves helping people of all ages and abilities to improve the skills they use in everyday life including reading, writing, maths and communication. This means assisting individuals and getting them to accept the need for assistance by breaking down old barriers such as poor literacy and numeracy.

Purpose: All aspects of Skills for Life activity, managing capacity building projects

Activity:

Planned and managed spending of LSC Local Capacity Fund and ESF Co-financing. Target for participation reached easily, target for achievement 2000 to 2004 reached easily – good performance against LSCs nationally, target 2004-7 likely to be reached. LSC area rates first in region and sixteenth out of 47 nationally for achievement of the targets.
