Launch of the Leicestershire Public Service Compact Wednesday 12th March, National Space Centre, Leicester

On Wednesday 12th March, over 70 delegates attended the Launch, at the National Space Centre, in Leicester. Rebecca Rhodes, the Skills Director - Sectors, from the LSC National Office, gave a national perspective on how the work of the Compacts across the region are supporting the national and regional agendas. Mickey Burke shared the achievements of the West Midlands PSC, of which has been in place for a number of years. Howard Robinson, the Chair of the PSC, gave an overview of the many achievements of the Leicestershire Compact and invited attendees to suggest important areas to focus collaborative work and to make a formal commitment to the Compact. > back to top | |

Neighbourhood Learning in Deprived Communities Project 2006/07
Following the success of the NLDC projects in the City and County, a Showcase event was held in November, to draw project leaders together, to celebrate the achievements of the recent run of projects and to discuss the lessons learned and the way forward. |

NLDC 2006/07 Evaluation Report An evaluation report is now available, to share the successes of the various projects which took place in priority areas in both the city and county. Each project was focused around preparing local people to enter the labour market and the transition into sustainable employment. Activities ranged from engaging adults in learning, health and wellbeing, arts and crafts, computing, community empowerment, life skills and skills for working in care and with specific hard to reach groups. > Click here to download the report (pdf)
